Dominic Beattie's 'Pattern Studies' are an ongoing series of drawings started in 2016. The drawings are completely improvised and express an intuitive relationship to colour and rhythm. Using the everyday materials of A4 paper and Sharpie markers Beattie has created a vibrant sequence of works that reference his interest in hard-edge abstraction, textiles and mid-century modernist design.

Dominic Beattie is a London based artist. His practice includes painting, sculpture and design. He has exhibited widely in the UK, Europe and elsewhere. Recent exhibitions include "Cascade" a solo show at JGM Gallery, London; a presentation of furniture works with Privateview Gallery at SP-ARTE in Sao Paolo, Brazil; and a presentation of new painted works at Art Brussels in Belgium. Beattie was the 2015 winner of the UK/Raine painting prize at The Saatchi Gallery. In June 2018 Beattie will exhibit new large-scale paintings in a solo show at Fold Gallery London.
