This is the first limited edition print by this British contemporary artist. The artist takes found words and juxtaposes them with disparate images. In this work the artist has presented a found phrase, lifted from a vast array of printed words that she trawled through, and combined it with an original photograph taken by the artist - itself inspired by an image encountered in a commercial context.

The artist seeks to take two elements drawn from different contexts and create a fresh work. The aim is to provoke thought and to invoke emotional response.

In this case the work is heavily ambiguous. It is aesthetically strong and can be appreciated at face value. However, it can also give rise to a number of questions about the choices and motives that led to the creation of the work. Is the artist being serious or ironic? We think that this work is just like a rose. It is extremely pretty to look at but watch out for the hidden thorns.

The artist currently lives and works in Manchester, UK.
