Description

ALO is an Italian artist based in London.

Liminal features over 70 works created over the past three years. Some works were created before the COVID pandemic and held back by the artist for this exhibition. Other works were created during the COVID lockdown periods, and some even in the past few months. Almost all are being shown for the first time.

Other solo ALO exhibitions held at the Saatchi Gallery have included Exit from Aden in 2017, and Hail to the Loser in 2014. All three have been met with tremendous success and recognition for his self-defined style of ‘Urban Expressionism’.

He is a painter of highly recognizable expression who decided developing his characters on the outdoor walls too. ALO describes the works as “portraits of persons I know, some are portraits inspired by people I noticed or randomly encountered, and some are a collection of features drawn from different individuals”.

Urban artworks by the artist first appeared in Italy and subsequently in London, Paris and Berlin.
