Madonna is one of the first two of a series of prints that are available exclusively from the Saatchi Gallery and the Jealous Gallery. Madonna and David Bowie are not simple portraits of pop icons but contemporary reflections on iconography. The halos are reminiscent of those appearing in religious paintings of the renaissance. The abundant tattoos, a signature feature of many works by the artist, constitute a language full of apparent meaning and significance.
