Description
Having just recovered from abdominal cancer in 1941, Henri Matisse identified with the Greek mythological tale as the surgery limited him to a chair. Unable to paint and sculpt, Matisse created ‘Jazz’, an art book filled with collages, dedicating the first image to Icarus falling amongst stars.
