Hand-crafted in her East London studio, Charlotte Wainwright has created a unique collection of marbled notebooks, exclusively for The Saatchi Gallery.
Charlotte uses bold colour-ways and free, fluid movement in her patterns. Each notebook is covered in an original marbled paper, capturing a moment in time in the marbling tray, impossible to recreate.
The paints are flicked onto a tray of water, floating effortlessly in tension on the surface. Swirls and patterns are drawn into the paint with sticks and combs, then the pattern is transferred to a sheet of paper and dried.
