About the Artist

Ally McIntyre

United Kingdom

These artworks vividly trace a journey of experimentation and growing maturity to mark marking; as well as charting McIntyre’s evolving concerns & narratives.

Born in Canada, Ally McIntyre graduated from Goldsmiths with an MFA in Fine Art in 2015.

McIntyre’s practice focuses on large, unapologetic works, with a personal narrative which is as complex as it is playful.

The artist's work was recently displayed in a solo show at Saatchi Gallery (Dog Day Circus, 2022) which was received with immense popularity and praise.

Bold and assertive, McIntyre’s work questions the prevailing association of large-scale art with the male artist.

After graduating in Painting and Sculpture from University of Alberta in 2013, McIntyre completed the MA Fine Art course at Goldsmiths University of London. She was awarded the Jealous Prize 2014/2015 and HIX Award 2015 presented by Tracey Emin & Mark Hix.

Recent exhibitions include solo shows at Jealous and CnB Gallery. Art Fairs include Moniker Art Fair, The Original Print Fair at the Royal Academy, The London Art Fair, Start Art Fair at the Saatchi Gallery and Art Toronto. McIntyre’s print edition ‘Moon Cries for Ferdinand’ forms part of London's Victoria and Albert Museum Permanent Print Collection. In 2018 she was a finalist for RBC's national painting competition. In 2021, McIntyre featured a painting in the group show 'Right Here, Right Now' at Saatchi Gallery in London, UK. Her work can be found in private collections in Australia, Belgium, Canada, France, Greece, United Kingdom, USA and Switzerland.
