Description
The artists include: Matthias Weischer, Eberhard Havekost, Dexter Dalwood, Dana Schutz, Michael Raedecker, and Inka Essenhigh. This title also includes an essay by Meghan Dailey. The six artists in this exhibition are undoubtedly diverse in style and sensibility. And yet when viewed from side to side, their works reveal a common tendency towards a highly imaginative mode of representational painting, each combining the familiar and recognizable with the invented. Together, they articulate a sense of visual plurality and open-endedness that embodies painting’s potential to create characters and scenes that exist nowhere other than the realm of art. It also includes artist biographies.
